Thanks. I allways press the retry a few times, and it never works. I'll give your recommendations a shot this weekend and let you know how it goes. Can you recommend the hardware or a program to check the burn quailty? Does it seem to you like my drive is defective? As I pointed out, these discs do play back. Thanks.

My 50 GB blu-ray discs almost always fail in varification. I get the "Reason: L-EC Uncorrectable Error." I'm using Verbatim BD-R DL DataLifePlus discs. I'm using an LG LG Electronics 14X USB 3.0 Super-Multi External Blu-ray Disc Rewriter BE14NU40 (DVD+/-RW with M-DISC Support). I have a Windows 10 system.
