  1. Sounds likely doesn't it ? Are Dell replacing it under warranty ?

Yes, Dell is replacing it under warrenty. They've sent me a philips drive and it works fantastic! :)

I've just burnt 2 discs and the verbatim as well as the platinum are recognized in the standalone dvd-player!

    Thanks for your help!

  2. I didn't burn a verbatim-disc yet, cause imgburn tell me that the disc (all 5 of my new package) is already completed, so I couldn't burn anything on the disc.

I already installed the firmware from the dell support.

When I put my platinum-DL in the drive, imgburn says it's empty. Another platinum was said to be completed too, I don't know what the problem could be. :(

  3. After Problems with Fujifilm Dual Layer Discs I bought Verbatims. Now I have the problem, that the drive tell me that the new discs are complete?

    What's wrong?

  4. It looks like you didn't give your drive a chance to verify the disc, does this one play?

If not, get yourself some verb +R DL media, they are the only ones that seem to work right.

No, both disks only come to the first menue and stop after pressing play, although the are recogniced as dvds.

I took the dvd out as the drive opened, I thought the dvd was ready.

ok, I try to get a verbatim and try it again.

  5. I made the second disk with DVDDecrypter and imgburn. The folder on the harddrive with dvddecrypter and then I built and wrote it with imgburn.

I can't get single verbatim DLs here so I bought fujifilm. If there's nothing wrong in the log I will try to get one of the verbatims!

  6. Hi,

I've got a problem with my dual layer dvds and my dvd-player.

I made an image with dvd shrink and burnt it on a dual layer dvd. It works well in my laptop but at the standalone I came to the starting screen "press this to watch this dvd in german". After pressing it the dvd in the standalone makes a "click" and it stops. :( Firstly I thought it was my fault as I burnt it stupidly with max speed instead of 2,4 like written on the dvd and without a layer break.

Then I made it like it's written in the guide with the files from the video_ts folder, a layer break and the speed of 2,4. The same problem, I get till the starting screen and after pressing play the "click" comes and the player stops.

Any ideas if this is a burning/dvd-problem or a dvd-player problem???

I forgot to write it's a fujifilm DVD +R DL and this information from imgburn:
