  1. sorry guys, i can't edit my original post in general topics or delete it. i only get a share option off the 3 dots, there some sort of time limit for editing or deleting a post? ok, now that i've actually completely read your first "novel", i have a question. i wrote down where playonlinux default stored my virtual file. /home/a/playonlinux/wineprefix/imgburn problem is it didn't give me the rest of the address, the screen shot shows it is giving me more folders to open after i enter imgburn. i followed what seemed to be a logical path after i reached that point and there was nothing there. i guess i should be asking if that file address is what i should right click and create the shortcut from. i was just under the impression, that it would be a click fest since you made a point of saying how people liked that better. it seemed like from your directions that window should have closed if i did it the way you said using the configure tab of play. oh yeah, when i get to imgburn in the address, it gives me the choices of dosdevices or drive c. did i miss something else in the read that should have installed the virtual drive there? oh if you hadn't guessed, i'm in approximately my 3rd month of using linux kernal.
  2. ok, i have to rewrite to thecrip, since i was a dumbass and skipped over the tips. then i wrote in the start stream thinking it would attach to the thread i created. went to edit the post by clicking on the 3 dots, which usually does it in other forums, was only offered the share option. so now i'm utterly confused, is there a thread that shows you how to use these forums? i mean i'm logged in, otherwise i couldn't post. weird it let me edit this post, is this post in the right place or should it have been placed in the guides. the guides look like postings asking for help with the program, not actual guides.
  3. 1) used sudo apt install playonlinux 2) searched all tabs for wine 4.0.4, nothing, even typed in search window, nothing. ended up using snap to download (using ubuntu) 3) found imgburn and it's being difficult. it has me browsing files, but install is obviously not the correct file. tried every folder in the install file with exact same error that wine crashed. i really don't want to reload 7 or 10 just so i can image burn another debian based o.s. i also don't want to turn a thumb drive into a hard drive, cause i'm still trying to figure out what o.s. i like best. so far ubuntu is ok, but it seems to have a foul temperment when it comes to loading gaming platforms.
  4. sooner or later imgburn is going to have to make the jump to removable media. i've used the program forever and once in a while i run across operating systems that are bigger than 4.7 gb. i don't like the other image burning programs, because the turn the media into a bootable drive. even with 3.0 usb it's not an efficient drive, especially for crypto purposes. my profits increased 8%, as a reference on efficiency, from usb stick to m2 drive. so it would be great if the program wasn't flashed to a thumb drive permanently. granted debian based o.s's aren't as stupid as windows for size, but some of the crypto o.s.'s are getting close. if imgburn can burn to a smaller thumb drive i'd accept that, but i haven't seen anything that would teach me how when i've looked.
