  1. https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=169061#p169061 I opened a post in the makemkv forum and they told me that maybe I could get that with my pioneer drive, but they ask me 25 dollars for a remote flasher, it's something strange really. I have seen that there are public firmwares of bluray recorders like ASUS or LG that modify to read movie bluray discs or even improve increase the capabilities of the device being able to write or read faster, or read and write TL UHD's but I dare not, I would dare more if there was a public pioneer 209dbk custom firmware to the access of more people, as it is an entry point to attacks on my computer. Plus $25 is 1/4 of what my pioneer 209dbk cost and I doubt it has a warranty in case I break it or something, I will wait to see if one day they make the firmware public.
  2. Right But why is TL mentioned on some official pioneer sites with this model? Is there any way by modifying the firmware to extend the ability to read TL? I've seen on forums like makemkv where they flash the drives and in some cases you can make UHD to read TL.
  3. I have a BLU-RAY PIONEER BD-RW BDR-209DBK drive with the 1.51 FIRMWARE version The PIONEER drive does not recognize my blank or recorded 100 GB triple layer M-DISCs, while my ASUS BW-16D1HT reads and writes 100 GB triple layer M-DISCs on the same PC ¿Even if it does not write M-DISC TL (100 GB) should it be able to read them if it is a BD-XL drive? I haven't tried with normal BD TL because I don't have one, but the pioneer drive does read and write normal 25 GB BD's. My main question is if the drive can read TRIPLE-layer M-DISC discs (100 GB), and another question is if it can read regular bd TRIPLE-layer discs (100 GB). In the firmware notes it mentions triple layer support in firmware 1.50. https://pioneer.jp/device_e/product-e/ibs/device_e/dev00002r_e.html#BDR-209DBK Improvement of the recording quality with BD-R TL(2x 4x 6x : MCM) This instruction manual also refers to the triple layer, but only associates it with writing, not reading. https://www.pioneer.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Instruction-Manual-for-BDR-209DBK.pdf This pdf alludes to a low version of the firmware where the TL read function was removed. https://images10.newegg.com/UploadFilesForNewegg/itemintelligence/Pioneer/BDR_209DBK_Pro_Spec_Rev1_20011445191870512.pdf The M-DISC website states that it only records M-DISC single layer (25 GB) and DL (50 GB). https://www.mdisc.com/drive-compatibility.html Also say that the website has been out of date for some time and that firmware 1.50 is from 2018. While IMGBURN says it does not read or write BD-XL, only single layer (25GB) and dual layer (50GB) blu-ray, which is what the M-DISC website says. Thanks!
  4. So is the disc defective or is the recorder defective? I will make another copy, this one I will keep just in case, at the end it is that video (31032010123.mp4) that is corrupted, it is only a 25 MB video, it pisses me off but the rest of the content seems intact. I have passed VSO inspector and it only gives me errors at the end of everything, just like the imgburn verification, I have checked the hashes and everything is correct, there are three folders in the root of the disk and one is the one with the failures, the other two give correct hashes. I have also copied all the files to a HDD and all are copied, except the one with the damaged sector that tells me that the file can not be copied, although I can preview it with a video player, but the video is cut at the end of this for being corrupted and if I try to copy the file the disk goes crazy.
  5. Hi guys! Nine days ago I bought on Amazon an ASUS BW-16D1HT Bluray burner to record M-DISCS verbatim 100 GB, the drive came without a box, only with a plastic and two identical CDs, one had the paper in bad condition (They look like expendable generic software disks like Asus egreen). The first 100 GB disc recorded without problems and with the correct verification, the second 100 GB disc also, but the third has had no problems during recording, although in the verification there is a damaged file or a sector that can not be read. At first it looks like a video because it indicates that it is a .mp4 file but in reality it is like a hidden or secondary file of 25kb, it may be the thumbnail of the video, it is in a folder inside the folder where those videos are. The failure of the verification has been just at the 99% point of the verification. Should I be worried? Normally when recording I am always watching, I have the PC in performance mode and without going to sleep, but the screen turns itself off every so often, I do not know if that can affect. The other two recordings I was always aware and moved the mouse every time the image went, but this time I took the opportunity to go to sleep and wake up with the disc recorded, and the surprise was to find the failure in that sector in the verification process. ¿Did I leave the drive too long without refreshing the screen image? ¿Is the drive failing? ¿Is the disk defective? ¿Was the file size too small? ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 - Log ; Thursday, 06 February 2025, 03:50:16 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 19:43:14 ImgBurn Version 2.5.8.0 started! I tried again and same error The errors seem to be at the end of the disk between sector 48514448 and sector and the final sector 48581055 Does anyone know how I can check which files that range of sectors correspond to? Otherwise it looks like a hardware error or some problem with the inputs and outputs ¿Should I reinstall imgburn? Any help?
