Got the latest update of Imgburn but it made no difference its still not recognising the DVDs in my laptop drive. When I insert the disc in the DVD drive on my laptop it does say 'Device not Ready (Medium not Present -Tray closed) in Imgburn. Havent had a chance to get any -R dvds to test but when i do I'll let you know if this makes any difference. Interestingly i just burnt a DVD using DVD shrink & Nero rather than Imgburn & the same thing happens. Its recognises the DVD on the external drive & my DVD player but not the drive on my laptop. Tho my laptop drive does still recognise DVDs that arent copied! Help, whats goin on!?

It actually a Hewlett-Packard machine. With the DVD drive, never been able to write any sort of DVD with it, not +r's or anything, tho it is supposed to. Done the latest firmware update on it too. Looked to getting it replaced but it was really expensive which if why i got the external drive (LITE-ON DVDRW SHM-165P6S) Dont understand why the drives having problems READING the DVDs i've copied using Imgburn tho. It can read any other DVDs & even other copied ones, just not stuff burnt using Imgburn. Strange.

Cheers for the help lightening. Thats certainly improved things cos is now recognises the DVDs in my DVD player. However i still have a problem in that is still doesnt recognise them in the DVD drive on my laptop. This is an HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GCA-404ON drive. This still acts as tho the disc is blank even tho is does recognise the original DVD (ie the one I'm copying)

Hi, I'm having trouble burning dvds & any help would be very much appreciated. What i doing is using DVDSHRINK 3.2 to copy DVDs to an ISO image on my hard drive & then using IMGBURN (V2.3.1.0) to burn this image to a DVD. The DVD drive on my laptop isnt able to write DVDs for some reason (tho if should!) so have bought an external DVD drive which i attach to my laptop using a USB 2.0 cable. The external drive is a LITE-ON DVDRW SHM-165P6S. My problem is that though the operation seems to be sucessful I am unable to read the DVD in any other drive apart from the external one i copied it to. No other drive recognizes the DVD, not the drive on my computer or any DVD player. Its as if they think the disc is still blank. Howver i can play it fine from the DVD drive i copied it to! Has anyone got any ideas why this would be happening? pretty sure its something simple I'm not doing but as i said any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers.
