FL_Craven_Fan replied to FL_Craven_Fan's topic in ImgBurn Support
Well, I might have been a litle quick on the draw..... I am still having problems with my Samsung burner. I think it might have to do with all of the changes that I made to Booktypes. When using IMGBURN, and trying to write to a DVD+RW, I get the following log report: I 17:57:10 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! I 17:57:10 Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition (6.0, Build 6000) I 17:57:10 Total Physical Memory: 2,094,976 KB - Available: 1,572,912 KB I 17:57:10 Initialising SPTI... I 17:57:10 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 17:57:11 Found 5 DVD-ROMs and 1 DVD -

On my computer with the SAMSUNG burner, No. On my computer with the original NEC burner, Yes. However, I am having the same problem on both computers. Now I can take any of these "problem" DVD+RW's to my wifes computer and can burn them there with no problem. But even after a successful burn on her computer, I still cannot do anything on my 2 computers YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! I took off the check in Alcohol and everything worked like a charm! When I went to the other computer, it still would not work. Even though Alcohol was not in the start/programs, it had been previously installed. I browsed to the install folder and ran/unchecked the box and now everything is back to normal Thanks a million and I really appreciate all of the help and effot that you have extened to me!!! -

Correct! It actually shows the erase as successfully completing! Yes, at this point the current profile has changed to DVD-ROM No, after ejecting and then reloading the dvd, the current profile remains DVD-ROM -

OK, 1 quick note, all of these previously recorded DVD+RW's were previously recorded on a NEC ND-3540A 1.04 burner I have since upgraded to the TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S183L SB01 (RAID) and that seems to be when my problem started... Onwards: I pop a previously recorded DVD+RW in the drive and the device status line reads: Ready (Disc Needs Formatting) I then select an image to burn and load that image. The burn icon is colored, so that is good to go. I click the icon and a pop-up says the disk is not empty. The device status line then changes to: Disc Not Empty I then right click on "destination" and select quick erase. It returns a "Successful erase" Meanwhile the "Current Profile" has changed to "DVD-ROM" and the device status still shows as "Disc Not Empty" Thnaks Also the burn icon is no longer colored, meaning, I can't select the icon to start burning -

But how can I change the booktype on the dvd disc back to dvd+rw ??? I am currently sitting here with a stack of basically useless DVD+RW's, because it thinks it is a DVD-ROm and will not let me burn to it... -
All of my dvd+rw's are showing last format as DVD-ROM When I first start up IMGBURN, the profile is DVD+RW, and the media shows as DVD+RW, but the last format is DVD-ROM I have tried everthing that I can see in IMGBURN to change the format, but have had no luck. After starting IMGBURN and inserting a DVD+RW disc, Here is what I get: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S183L SB01 (RAID) Current Profile: DVD+RW Disc Information: Status: Complete Erasable: Yes Formatted: No (Started) Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x, 4x TOC Information: Session 1... -> Track 01 (Mode 1, LBA: 0 - 2295103) -> LeadOut (LBA: 2295104) Physical Format Information (ADIP): Disc ID: SONY-S11-00 Book Type: DVD+RW Part Version: 2 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,711 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Book Type: DVD-ROM Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: 10.08Mbps Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,477,423 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 Current Format Capacity: Sectors: 2,295,104 Size: 4,700,372,992 bytes Time: 510:03:29 (MM:SS:FF) Preferred Format Capacity: Sectors: 2,295,104 Size: 4,700,372,992 bytes Time: 510:03:29 (MM:SS:FF) Maximum Format Capacity: Sectors: 2,295,104 Size: 4,700,372,992 bytes Time: 510:03:29 (MM:SS:FF) I have been pulling my hair out the last 3 days trying to figure this out. If anyone can help, please, please, please help me out here. I am standing by to provide more information if needed..... Thanks
