well i do not know what happen but there was a update from Microsoft that I d/l today plus a driver update from MSI. Fix the problem I guess or at least for now. The Everest Ultimate Edition program sent me directly to MSI website for the update. Thanks to all who helped me. Maybe in the future I can return the favor.

lol stingy i was changing things around to see if it would make a difference. There was another error that I had with the Sata DVD drive. I will post a log later.

ok got a couple of burns to work, but only when the pioneer drive is hooked up by itself. What are the next steps?

I have a Ultrax X power supply.

I can burn with the Sony Drive, but now the Pioneer. I also purchased a Lite Sata drive and it does the same thing as the pioneer. I used the same disc in the sony as the pioneer. I turned down the write speed to 8x max and still the same error.
