  1. Well its an old burner so it only writes at max 2.4x. But I guess you are right. It doesn't like the new 003's. But I bought them because I heard that verbatim had outsourced the 2.4x dl to india and some ppl had gotten bad results.. Anyway to ease my life I have ordered a Pioneer 112D now anyway. And as for the settings thing. I had to put the link size at 0 for the burner to burn the low quality media. Thanks for the help anyway.
  2. So first let me post a log of one of many sucessfull burns with low quality media (MediaRange 2.4x RICOHJPN-D01-67). I 00:03:49 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! Max speed 1x wich it doesn't obey btw 2.4x is the only supported speed I guess. So I was happily burning along with these cheap DL disks knowing that they might not work in a few months or whatever. So I got some verbatims 8x made in singapore (MKM-003-00). So I figured since I never had any problems burning verbs before it would work like a charm. I 22:32:18 ImgBurn Version 2.3.2.0 started! But prior disc burns wich I don't have logs for since it hanged.. I had choppy burning that stopped at 50% and hanged twice. And one of those times I got an error that it couldn't write 40 sectors in the 2 million range. Then it went to session fix error. I should mention that the new verbatims where the 8x and I have prior used the 2.4x (singapore not india), wich worked. But there is nothing I can do about that now anyway. My question is that if the burner is dying why did the low quality media work ? I got a burn failed with a verb before I burned the last rico disk. And is it possible that the verbatims where bad ? So why would it go from choppy, burn a little and then stop over and over, and then to session fix error ? And finally the big question. What settings should I use ? Write Type ? Link size ? What is it ? I/O transfer length ? And what does it matter with "SPTI - Use 'CdRom' class" ? And any other setting you might think of. Will all my troubles go away if I buy a Pioneer 112D ?
