  1. tried firmware upgrade, says incompatible with my drive. My friend says its an OEM drive for gateway, so the toshiba samsung firmwares wont work, and even verbatim disks wont allow me to burn at 2.4 x and also still give me read errors. ill just shell out 50 bucks and get a better dvd+-r drive

  2. No matter what dvd media i put in my drive, it will not allow me to burn it at 2.4x. I need it to burn at such so speed to eliminate read errors. When i pop the same media into my girlfriends laptop it allows burning at 2.4x. the lowest it will let me burn is at 4x and it always results in read errors. Any help would be appreciated, ive tried finding another firmware, but no luck.
