  1. If you're working from an image file I've no idea why one would work when the other doesn't.

    Compare the state of the disc (via the disc info window) before and after burning with each program.

    Are they the same?

    Booktype doesn't apply to BD media.

    I will do what you asked and post it for you... Tks.... :)

    I cannot reproduce the original problem I was having with the 25G I can now format them and write to them..

    and I do not know why.... Thank you for your time... and your understanding....

  3. The 50GB is a different dye, the 25GB didn't seem to burn too well on the drive, that's why it died and failed to reinitialise it.

    It's the same thing that happens with DVDs. Some just work better than others. I have a H20L and I've had no problems so far with the Verbatim 25GB BD-RE discs.

    You can try and do a format on the disc, just click Tools -> Drive -> Erase -> Full.

    That may or may not work.

    Thank you for the reply and I have been doing more research... and here is what I have found...

    1. I create an img with ImgBurn.

    2. I then write the img file and verify it to a Sony 25G BD-RE using ImgBurn

    I get a message that is displayed on the TV screen when I insert the disc in the player is

  4. BTW...

    I just burned the same image to a 50G Sony BD-RE and here is the log and it plays just great on the BDP-S500

  5. I have a GGW-H10N Blu-ray burner with the current firmware v1.03

    using Sony BD-RE 25G discs

    In the settings I have selected: Prefer Format Without Spare Areas (*)

    Disc formatted as displays:

    HL-DT-ST BD-RE GGW-H10N 1.03 (Fibre)

    Current Profile: BD-RE

    I wrote to the disc and verified it and it played on my BDP-S500 player.

    Now the problem starts

  6. Settings -> Write tab -> 'Prefer Format Without Spare Areas'

    Then do a full format.

    Thank You!!! :D

    BTW the "Erase" will take along time... It took over 4 hours to erase the disc and ....

    Is there any reason not to format (erase) it to the Maximum Format Capacity???

    I can only see 2 options for BD disc that I need to select:

    Settings -> Write tab -> 'Prefer Format Without Spare Areas'

    Settings -> Write tab -> "DVD-RAM / BD-RE Fastwrite (*)'

    Are there any other settings for Blu-Ray (BD-RE) disc that I should select???

    Tks again for a great piece of software....

  7. I would like to reformat this disc to use the full disc (Maximum Format Capacity)... How can I do this???

    This is a Panasonic 50 GB BD-RE disc and the file I would like to write to this disc is 50,050,629,632 bytes big...

    I did not have to format this disc, it came preformatted..

    I have searched the forum and "Erase" is not the same as "Format"... How can I increase the disc size to the max??

    Thank you...
