Jake_the_Snake Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Howdy... I bought and installed this drive in question and it worked to burn using DVD Fab VSO setting once. It can read DVD's and create backups all day long, but can't burn anything. I'm wondering if this drive is just a POS or if maybe I need to do something diff. with it? Firmware is SB06, which I think is the latest, according to what I've read. It burned one movie last night, plays fine (Mummy Returns). But I tried another one and it errored out. I'll post the log below... I bought a new burner, but haven't installed it yet. Opinions on a Pioneer DVR-1910LS? I'm pulling what's left of my hair out trying to get this damn computer to burn since my stupid laptop won't burn (let alone read) DVD's anymore. And that was out of the blue... reads CD Roms alright, just not dvds... Please let me know on this, I have a lot of backups to burn before my kids screw up my originals. Try burning at 8x or 12x to see if you get a better burn. By the way, what's the brand of the blanks you're using? Have you tried with DVD+R blanks?
