mmalves Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Which controller is the drive connected to? Are you using the latest x64 driver available for this controller?
pedrofdmp Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) Which controller is the drive connected to? Are you using the latest x64 driver available for this controller? It's using ICH9 AHCI mode, this has happened without the intel chipset drivers and now that i have installed them it persists. btw i just noticed this thread: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8327 should i also install the "matrix" stuff besides the chipset drivers ?! Edited April 23, 2009 by pedrofdmp
mmalves Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Yes. The Matrix Storage Manager driver is the real deal; the INF Update Utility just makes Windows show the correct names. By the way, I also have ICH9 in AHCI mode
pedrofdmp Posted April 23, 2009 Author Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) Matrix driver does not detect ich9, only ich9r had to extract it and force instalation also instaled jmicron drivers for the second controler (only have a lg ide drive there) i will do a couple more burns and see how it turns out i'm also using 2.4.2.0 for precaution <- good idea ? ahci is faster i supose... as for ich9 i wish i got ich9r instead, less issues with forcing drivers Edited April 23, 2009 by pedrofdmp
mmalves Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 The Matrix Storage Manager driver only installs when the controller is in AHCI or RAID mode. If it's in IDE mode then no drivers are needed. Check again in your motherboard's BIOS if it's in IDE, AHCI or RAID mode. You should also be using the latest ImgBurn version, as old versions aren't supported.

My board is set to AHCI ICH9 is not supported only ICH9R, ICH9M etc... you can check it here: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/17412/eng/readme.txt and here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I/O_Controller_Hub#ICH9 Intel does not officialy support ahci on ich9 You really have to force the driver for it to install. And i'm back to the latest version of imgburn Edited April 23, 2009 by pedrofdmp
