Does it recognize other DVD discs? e.g. ImgBurn shows "Ready (Disc Not Empty)" in the status bar.

If it does, please copy all the text shown in the Information box on the right-side of ImgBurn's window.

Unfortunately that's all it says with the blank disk in it. :(

I've also changed my settings to 1x and 8x... it still doesn't want to write though. T_T

Either the discs are totally shot or the drive/drive controller is. But, since the drive can read original DVDs, well, it may just be the discs. Try to put one of those discs in another machine with ImgBurn on it and see what it says (i.e. if it can give full disc info).

I used a few of the disks I had before to burn things on the computer I'm using now and it worked fine/has been working fine. The error just came up today before I updated the program, I figured if I updated it, the program would fix itself. :-/

I'll give what you said a shot later today though.

This is a drive issue and nothing to do with the program.

If the drive can't initialise the disc properly then no software can do anything about it. Try cleaning your drive.
