darm Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Hi, I bought a bunch of cheap TDK +R DLs last week for burning xbox games - used 50 of them during the last year, and didn't have any problem. But now all of a sudden they won't even start recording - power calibration error when setting L0 data capacity. I thought the media was crap(TDKs haven't been on sale for a while and media might have changed in the newer ones) and went to MediaMarkt and got an expensive Verbatim. Still the problem persists as you can see in the log below So I went to this forum and looked around and it turned out that other people were having similar problems around the same time last week. And I did install some updates for windows a week ago. I suspect they are to blame, but I'm not sure. Could anyone advise a good liveCD with DL image burning capability so I could make sure this is a software issue? I 22:10:51 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started! mmalves Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Try the other available speeds, but with that burner you would have better chances if you were using Verbatim 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) Made in Singapore blanks. You may be able to burn those Verbatim 8x blanks, and possibly the TDKs, if you use a newer fullsize burner on a desktop computer, or perhaps on an external enclosure.
