Shinobi_Artist Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I've been using ImgBurn for a few months to make back ups of my 360 games with no problems. Yesterday when I clicked write the following log appeared: I 10:48:39 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started! I 10:48:39 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1) I 10:48:39 Total Physical Memory: 2,095,756 KB - Available: 1,329,512 KB I 10:48:39 Initialising SPTI... I 10:48:39 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 10:48:39 Found 1 DVD-ROM, 1 DVD
mmalves Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Has this ever happened before? Have you recently installed some other program that could be "using" the drive?
Shinobi_Artist Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 No, I just used it to burn a copy of Stormrise 1 week ago, and the only thing i've done since then is update to 2.4.4.0 so the update might have done something.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 The update wouldn't make it hang, the only thing I added was more debug info when it failed. What else do you have running on your PC that's related to cd/dvd/bd drives in any way, shape or form? (ie burning software, virtual drive tools etc)
Shinobi_Artist Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 not that I can think of, ImgBurn is the only burner I use, other than windows media player to burn cds but i havn't used WMP to burn something in a long time.
Shinobi_Artist Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 I honestly don't know what those are. Sorry to be such a looser, but I've never had problems so I never really looked past just clicking write.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Switch to 'Read' mode and look in the drop down box that lists the source drives. What do you see?
Shinobi_Artist Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 [2:1:0] HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GSA-H30L (E:) [4:0:0] MagicISO Virtual DVD-ROM (G:) [6:0:0] RUR NWD6ZSPQFG (F:) [6:1:0] RUR NWD6ZSPQFG (I:) the F and I drives are devices created my Deamon Tools, so that's why those are there.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 So basically you have 3 virtual drives then. This is what I asked you back in post 4 The first thing I'd do now is look at the filter driver load order (in the tools men) - copy + paste the info into here. Then consider removing both those tools (DT and MagicISO) AND their drivers. Removing the SPTD one requires that you run the standalone installer (from www.duplexsecure.com ) and just click uninstall when it prompts you. You can put them back on once you've solved your issue (and if it wasn't caused by them of course!).
Shinobi_Artist Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 Ok, I have no idea what happened, but I uninstalled Magic ISO and Deamon tools, then uninstalled ImgBurn and downloaded and re-installed it. I then went through the regular process and it worked. So IDK if it was the virtual drives, it shouldn't. They've been installed since i got the computer, but all is well now. Thanks for all your help and patience.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 If you put them back on again, make sure you install the latest versions!
Shinobi_Artist Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 Are there any reasons this could have happened? So I can avoid it in the future? Would it have been an out of date version of either of the programs?
mmalves Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Yes. Older versions of those programs could have bugs that affect the burning process.
