kennykramer Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I successfully read disc and created .iso and .mds files stored on WD external HD. The .iso is large 7.875GB, so I'm using Verbatim DVD+R DL (8.5GB) media. When I try to write to disc I immediately get an error box "Cyclic Redundancy Check"etc. See log below. Seems what I'm doing should work. Do I have some settings wrong? I'm pretty new at this so any help would be appreciated! Thanks, kenny I 21:01:19 Operation Started! Cynthia Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 I 21:01:20 Source File: M:\Videos\MONK Season 4 disc 1.mdsE 21:01:48 Failed to read from file: MONK Season 4 disc 1.iso The issue is with the M: device. The data can't be read due to a failure to read the file. If you try to read/copy the image file in Windows Explorer - can that be done or you also get a reading error then?

No, I could not copy the .iso file to C: using Windows Explorer. I get a "cannot read from the source file or disc"error. Not sure as I've been using this external for many such tasks? I'll try re-reading image file to C: and try writing from there? I'll report back. Thanks, Kenny
LIGHTNING UK! Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 You should run chkdsk on drive M: with a complete disc sector scan via the '/F' switch.
