Booktyping problem with HP DVD Writher 1040d

First off, i'm pretty new if that have never done booktyping before, now first off i want to know if my drive can bitset, also, i've heard somewhere that this drive is Natively a LITE-ON drive. But when i go to the LIteon tab and select DVD+R it says Unknown FAILED! No additional sense information, if you can help thanks in advance

I think you need to crossflash it before you can bitset/booktype with it.
