dbminter Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I just got a new computer and am in the process of installing and setting settings. However, I've run into a snag I can't resolve. I can't access Documents And Settings. I can't access it in True Image backups I've made when mounted or explored. I also cannot access several folders in ProgramData like Application Data, Desktop, Documents, Favorites, Start Menu, and Templates. I've already disabled User Account Control which resolved a multitude of my inability to access things, but, I can't seem to figure this one out. But, whenever I try to access these folders, I get the message the folder is not accessible. Access is denied. Also, these folders have a tick next to them with an arrow pointing near 1 o'clock. I used to be able to access these folders under my old XP to Vista upgraded system, but, this is a new system with Vista installed default. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!
dbminter Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 Never mind. I discovered what it was. Has something to do with Junctions, so the files aren't really there where they say they are. Great job, Microsoft!
