verify problem

Hi, I have backed up 100+ DVDS in the past 3 months with no problems. Recently 9 out of my last 10 backups will stop the verify process at 96 or 97%. I try the burned discs out in my stand alone DVD player by fast forwarding through the entire movie and all seems well. I have attached my most recent log and am hoping someone could spot a problem. Thanks

Your drive is ancient and your blanks are rubbish.

 

That's never a good combo for getting decent burns.

 

Although the drive doesn't error out mid burn, it simply cannot read back what it just wrote because the burn quality isn't up to scratch.

I will be picking up a new burner soon and new discs. Do you think that the 9 DVDs already burned are coasters even though they appear to work fine while fast forwarding through each movie.

Verify them in your new drive when you get it and see if that can read them.

I'm hoping I have a bad batch of discs, so I may pick up some better quality discs before upgrading the burner. My computer is about 7 years old so I'm trying to avoid upgrading anything since I will probably need a new computer soon.

I verified 3 store bought discs that I know work and All 3 showed ton's of errors during the verify process. What still confuses me is if my burner has trouble reading how is it that it can go through the shrinking process and burn via img burn and the disc is still 100% playable in my stand alone player and via computer. Sorry for the questions just trying to get a better understanding
