tschultzpiano Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 My DVD player won't play my newly burned DVD. I have 3 DVD players in my house, and actually only one of them will play it. Shouldn't burned DVDs play in any player??? I'm getting frustrated, because I thought I was finally successful! It also won't play in my Playstation 2. I'm using a Memorex DVD+R ... I don't know if this really affects it. If you say that is the solution, if I go out and buy better disks - DVD-R??? - is this guaranteed to play in my DVD players then?? I burned .Vobs will all the proper .ifo and .bup files, etc. I thought everything should work..but it's not. Here is my log: ; //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 - Log ; Sunday, 24 May 2009, 18:20:01 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 17:02:17 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started! mmalves Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks. Also try burning at 4x to see if you get a better burn.

Older stand alone players can have problems playing burned discs. How old are those that won't play? -R media worked better for me in the old time when my DVD player had issues playing burned discs.

They aren't too old..maybe a few years at the most. The one that does work is fairly new I believe. When you used -R media, did it always work? Does anyone know if I use -R media if it will work for sure in my DVD players? Or what a way is to make sure it works?
Cynthia Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Buy a small package with 10 discs of -R Verbatim or similar good quality brand. The only way to know if it works in your players, is to try. It could also be worth to run a cleaning disc in the players. They do attract dust.
