ShadowFire09 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Hey, I'm trying to burn UFC for my 360 and I'm using Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL discs. Here's my log: I 14:21:34 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started! I 14:21:34 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic x64 Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1) I 14:21:34 Total Physical Memory: 2,095,560 KB - Available: 865,716 KB I 14:21:34 Initialising SPTI... I 14:21:34 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 14:24:03 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD

ShadowFire09 Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 Alright, well now when I put a disc in it says Device Not Ready (Medium Not Present). What do I do now?
mmalves Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 The drive thinks there's no disc inside. Does it recognize burned discs?
ShadowFire09 Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 (edited) Hm. Well actually I just switched discs and put in a different blank disc. Now it's stuck on Device Not Ready (Logical Unit is in process of becoming ready) and it's been like this for a few minutes already. Also I checked with a burned DVD my friend gave me and it works just fine. Oh and yes indeed I did restart. EDIT: Well after another try of reloading the disc, it seems as though it's working now. Hopefully it'll actually burn correctly. Thanks for the help. EDIT again: Well scratch that I got the same error as last time. I 15:23:24 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started! Did the firmware update go all the way to 100%? Anyway I think you should get a new burner as this one isn't reliable anymore.
ShadowFire09 Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 D: mannnn. Well I'll try to update firmware again when I get back from work. I realllllly hope this works cause I don't wanna spend money on a new burner.
Cynthia Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Sounds as the laser has problems to read the discs. Perhaps try to clean the laser head with some alcohol.
mmalves Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 They're very cheap these days and your burner isn't correctly recognizing the disc (see the parts I've highlighted above they're all wrong).
ShadowFire09 Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 I seeeee. What's a good burner to get then?
mmalves Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 Pioneer burners are very good for burning dual-layer media
ShadowFire09 Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 Alright. Would this be a good one? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1218069254016 Are there any problems with external burners?
mmalves Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 There could be compatibility issues between your computer and the USB external enclosure (search this board for "semaphore timeout" to see a few examples). Besides, an internal burner is a lot cheaper and you can replace the one you currently have
ShadowFire09 Posted May 28, 2009 Author Posted May 28, 2009 I'm kinda scared to do work on my computer. I have slots for 4 drives though so maybe I should... Do you know a place with a tutorial or something on how to connect drives?
mmalves Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 First result from a Google search: http://video.about.com/pcsupport/dvdburner3-mov.htm
