FloRidah Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I have an ASUS DRW-201451 and works just fine with any other program, like Alcohol or Nero, but isn't recognized by ImgBurner. Any help, please?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 You've got a virus/rootkit/malware problem. Clean it off with gmer, DrWeb CureIt and anything else you can find that will detect it. There are loads of threads that already talk about the issue. This one for instance: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtop...amp;#entry93103
eSkRo Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Of course it may be a virus but i get that error only when AnyDVD is running before i launch ImgBurn so,,, If its your case, shutdown AnyDVD and see if it fixes the problem...
mmalves Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Do you get exactly that maximum number of secrets error? If you do you're also infected
eSkRo Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Do you get exactly that maximum number of secrets error? If you do you're also infected like i said only when AnyDVD is running.... otherwise theres 0 problems
mmalves Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Have you tried all those cleaners to make sure your system is clean?
eSkRo Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Have you tried all those cleaners to make sure your system is clean? scanning with my AV just to be sure
mmalves Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 After you do that, give the other mentioned softwares a shot too. No AV solution can detect everything.
eSkRo Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) After you do that, give the other mentioned softwares a shot too. No AV solution can detect everything. My system is super Clean!!! My AV and ANti-Spywares all say it Clean!!! Listen, heres what i did to make it work ok,,, THis was told me by JohnCcCcCc from another forum and to my surprise, it worked!!! As far as i know, probably something corrupted my DVD-ROM driver but didnt know exactly what was it.... So anyways, JOhnCcCcCc told me to do this: Right-Click on "MY COMPUTER" Choose "Properties" Go to the "HARDWARE" tab Then click on "DEVICE MANAGER" Got to "CD-ROM/DVD-ROM" & Click on the "+" sign to Expend it Now Highlight all u see there ( doesnt matter how much drives u see... i had 2 so i selected the 2 of them) Right-click and choose "Uninstall" Once uninstalled to the top menu you'll see -> "ACTION" Click on "ACTION" Choose "Find Hardware Changes" Now Windows will find your DVD-ROM(s) Now just REBOOT your PC And VOILA!!! IMGBURN works again!!! Magic!!! Edited June 2, 2009 by eSkRo
mmalves Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Then why don't you run the previously mentioned programs? Afraid that they'll find something nasty on your "super clean" system?
eSkRo Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) uhm,,, no,,, i just told you that now ImgBurn is working using this method.... im posting this so i can help people.... if anyone would like to try it.... hey its free to try right! Edited June 2, 2009 by eSkRo

spinningwheel Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 FloRidah... .Look at time stamp 00:24:24 Max secrets statement on your screenshot. You have the rootkit/malware infection. I'm happy that eSKro may have found a workaround to the problem, but you still need to clean your system as advised or else the possibility exists that someone else will be running your system from time to time.
