mmalves Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Download and install the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard. If you're unsure, use SIW to find out which one you have (Hardware -> Motherboard in SIW). You can also select the info shown by SIW and copy/paste it here

mmalves Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Which BIOS version do you have on that board? Could you try plugging only that burner as Master at the end of a decent 80-wire IDE cable?

CarolinaGuy Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Well, I'm still unable to make a DVD with ImgBurn but was able to back up the folder I needed using WIN 7 built-in burner. CarolinaGuy
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 You'd better stick to using that then. Your machine is returning loads of errors to ImgBurn, errors that are normally caused by dodgy drivers and there's nothing ImgBurn can do about that.

Will keep trying to IMPROVE drivers so I can use IMGBURN. CarolinaGuy

LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 It looks exactly the same to me. Why don't you use an OS where the drivers DO work? Another option might be to stick the latest beta of Virtual CloneDrive on and switch to the ElbyCDIO interface, maybe that'll work?
CarolinaGuy Posted July 5, 2009 Author Posted July 5, 2009 PROBLEM FINALLY RESOLVED. THE PIONEER DVR-119D DRIVE WAS THE PROBLEM. REPLACED WITH A MITSUMI CR48X9TE CD WRITER - NO MORE COASTERS. WILL NOW PURCHASE A NEW CD/DVD WRITER. CarolinaGuy
