Jason1313 Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Here's my problem. When I open up Imgburn and try to write something to a DVD-R, it just says "Disc Not Empty". I go and check the disc from my computer and guess what...there is nothing on it. I try it with another disc and get the same result. Anybody know what is wrong with it? Here is my info. mmalves Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-H653F D200 (ATA) Update your burner's firmware to the latest version D400 (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished). After rebooting check if the drive sees the discs as empty
Jason1313 Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 k thanks but i have one problem. When I go to and download the file, it opens this thing called Tsdnwin and asked me to locate the F/W File. What is that and where can i find it?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Point it to the file called 653FD400.bin that's in the same folder as tsdnwin.exe
Jason1313 Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 Sorry I am a complete noob. Can you point me to exactly where it is like as in Computer/OS (C:)/Windows/System32 and so on. I really have trouble finding this file. Thank you very much -Jason
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 The file you downloaded extracts to 'C:\dell\drivers\R218167' by default... so it's got to be somewhere around there.
Jason1313 Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 Ok I updated it then restarted my computer and it still says "Disc Not Empty". Anyone else got an answer? Here is my info again. mmalves Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Can you check those discs on another burner? Either your drive is crazy or those discs have been used before/have manufacturing problems.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Can you copy + paste the disc info for that disc when you're in Read mode please.

Cynthia Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 @ Jason1313 You should have the same type of 'stuff' as you had in the post #7. Now you only have the first part of the disc info.
Jason1313 Posted June 12, 2009 Author Posted June 12, 2009 I was just asked for the disc info but here is the full TSSTcorp DVD+-RW TS-H653F D400 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD+R Disc Information: Status: Incomplete Erasable: No Sessions: 1 Free Sectors: 2,294,816 Free Space: 4,699,783,168 bytes Free Time: 509:59:41 (MM:SS:FF) Supported Write Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x, 12x, 16x Physical Format Information (ADIP): Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00 Book Type: DVD+R Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,711 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00 Book Type: DVD+R Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 2,491,711 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 Performance (Write Speed): Descriptor 1... -> B0: 0x00, B1: 0x00, B2: 0x00, B3: 0x00 -> EL: 2295103 (0x0023053F) -> RS: 22,160 KB/s (16x) - WS: 5,540 KB/s (4x) Descriptor 2... -> B0: 0x00, B1: 0x00, B2: 0x00, B3: 0x00 -> EL: 2295103 (0x0023053F) -> RS: 22,160 KB/s (16x) - WS: 8,310 KB/s (6x) Descriptor 3... -> B0: 0x00, B1: 0x00, B2: 0x00, B3: 0x00 -> EL: 2295103 (0x0023053F) -> RS: 22,160 KB/s (16x) - WS: 11,080 KB/s (8x) Descriptor 4... -> B0: 0x00, B1: 0x00, B2: 0x00, B3: 0x00 -> EL: 2295103 (0x0023053F) -> RS: 22,160 KB/s (16x) - WS: 16,620 KB/s (12x) Descriptor 5... -> B0: 0x00, B1: 0x00, B2: 0x00, B3: 0x00 -> EL: 2295103 (0x0023053F) -> RS: 22,160 KB/s (16x) - WS: 22,160 KB/s (16x)
Jason1313 Posted June 12, 2009 Author Posted June 12, 2009 (edited) Tomorrow I will go out to wal mart or bestbuy and get some new dvds. The two I tried were old ones my friend gave me when he moved. When I get the new discs, I will post what happens with them. Thanks for everyones help and support! Edited June 12, 2009 by Jason1313
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Thanks for that info. If you have time and are willing, I could do with the I/O debug log from what the program does when you insert the disc when you're in Write / Read modes. So just eject the disc, load the program, switch to the Write mode, press the F8 key (to enable I/O debug mode) and then insert the disc. Save what you see in the log window to a file and repeat for Read mode. Then upload both logs here on the forum. Thanks in advance.
