Emil Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I have tried to make backup of one of my games... It failed because disc drive didn't support BitSetting, so I would like to buy new drive (External).. Maybe anyone could tell if this drive will work? http://www.google.com/products/catalog?oe=...um=4#ps-sellers or you could make a recommendation? And please, something cheap..

LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 If you know it's not an ImgBurn problem (your words, not mine!) why are you posting in the 'ImgBurn Support' section?!
mmalves Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 That should work, if you're using the good dual-layer media that is. How about getting a Pioneer 116/117 (or 216/217) in an external enclosure of your choice?
Emil Posted June 15, 2009 Author Posted June 15, 2009 If you know it's not an ImgBurn problem (your words, not mine!) why are you posting in the 'ImgBurn Support' section?! Oooops.. My mistake, sorry..
Emil Posted June 15, 2009 Author Posted June 15, 2009 (edited) How about getting a Pioneer 116/117 (or 216/217) in an external enclosure of your choice? Yes, I want external, because I have laptop.. Anyway, thank you all for your help and support! Edited June 15, 2009 by Emil
Emil Posted June 15, 2009 Author Posted June 15, 2009 i would still update my firmware!!! How can I update? I downloaded update program from LG, but it can't find any hardware.. Is this drive even LG? :?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Yes, HL-DT-ST is LG. You'll need to get a firmware update from whoever made your laptop as the ones on the LG site aren't for drives with special (OEM?) firmware.
Emil Posted June 15, 2009 Author Posted June 15, 2009 Yes, HL-DT-ST is LG. You'll need to get a firmware update from whoever made your laptop as the ones on the LG site aren't for drives with special (OEM?) firmware. Laptop is made by Asus, there are no firmware updates... I found one (Left side), but it doesn't work, tried "ASUS Live Update", it says that 'There is no need to update the environment'
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 You'd need WRxx etc because your current one is WR02. WNxx would be for a different OEM.
eSkRo Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 (edited) well the easiest route would be buying a new external burner indeed.... this one looks good: The DVR-X122 External DVD/CD Writer supports 18x write speeds on both DVD-R/+R along with the capability to write at 10x speed on DVD-R/+R dual/double layer media. This External DVD/CD Writer easily connects to your PC through an available USB 2.0 port. http://cgi.ebay.com/Pioneer-DVR-X122-18x-D...0QQcmdZViewItem sorry but, im just a Pioneer fan!!! Cynthia Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Might be that MediaCodeSpeedEdit allows for bit setting on that burner.
