tguy Posted June 20, 2009 Share Posted June 20, 2009 I am getting failures on most dual layer burns. It usually happens around the 50% mark. I got pretty good success with Memorex but poor results with Verbatim. Is there a firmware update for my drive? Is the speed correct? Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. mmalves Posted June 20, 2009 Share Posted June 20, 2009 You're using the 8x (MKM-003-00 dye) Verbatim blanks, which aren't well supported by most burners, especially slim ones. Try with the 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) Verbatim blanks. You might want to try burning at 4x to see how it turns out. You may also want to try a lens cleaning disc on that drive.
