Filed to read sector on dual layer

I am getting failures on most dual layer burns. It usually happens around the 50% mark.

I got pretty good success with Memorex but poor results with Verbatim.

Is there a firmware update for my drive?

Is the speed correct?

Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're using the 8x (MKM-003-00 dye) Verbatim blanks, which aren't well supported by most burners, especially slim ones.

 

Try with the 2.4x (MKM-001-00 dye) Verbatim blanks. You might want to try burning at 4x to see how it turns out. You may also want to try a lens cleaning disc on that drive.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try the 2.4X disks first and see how that goes.
