Aevaken Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Trying to back up a weird PS2 game I have, but am having trouble even getting started. I already updated the firmware for my burner, updated Imgburn, and have made multiple coasters since. Discs where burning before updates at the MAX setting, but errored out when a specific speed was chosen. Now discs won't burn period. Using Memorex DVD+RW. I 18:55:34 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started! I 18:55:34 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 18:55:34 Total Physical Memory: 522,332 KB - Available: 72,852 KB I 18:55:34 Initialising SPTI... I 18:55:34 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 18:55:34 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD
mmalves Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Rewritables aren't as good as write-once media, so try with a DVD+R disc if you can. If you really want to use rewritable media then Verbatim DVD+RW as it's much better than the others
Aevaken Posted June 29, 2009 Author Posted June 29, 2009 I have tried a DVD+R as well and it does the same thing. The drive has suddenly decided to work again, but will still only write at MAX speed, with same errors happening when a specific write speed is verified. I don't think it is a problem with the media, so is there anything else you guys think I could do to address this problem?
Cynthia Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Older burner, so perhaps a magic cleaning disc could help.
