LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Repeat your attempt to burn the disc, but before you click the big 'Write' button, press the F8 key. Then, once it's failed and you're back on the main screen, save the log to a file and upload/include it in your next post here on the forum. Thanks.
DJ01 Posted June 29, 2009 Author Posted June 29, 2009 Ok I think I might have figured out my problem. . .I have 2 burners hooked up to 1 computer. . . a external 1 *memorex* and the factory 1. . . last night I recently found out that the factory 1 is a DL burner so I tired to burn a game with it in imgburn and it work!!!!! so im guessing the factory burner is set to master and it is not letting the memorex burn dvds? could that be a problem? if so how to do I change the master burner to memorex thx, DJ
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 It's nothing to do with that. If you can get me the info I asked for in my previous reply I'll be able to help you, if you can't then I can't / won't.
DJ01 Posted June 29, 2009 Author Posted June 29, 2009 ok I pressed f8 and this ting below keeps running in the log should I let it continue or stop it or press the write button while its running? It's pretty uncommon to see UDMA errors on a USB drive. Basically it's an issue between the drive and the controller - which in an external enclosure is only about 2" (inches) worth of cable away (assuming an IDE drive). Personally I'd ditch the drive and just buy a new one.
DJ01 Posted June 29, 2009 Author Posted June 29, 2009 Ok thanks for the help I figured I would have to buy a new 1. . . .any suggestions
mmalves Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Does it have to be an external drive? (e.g. you have a laptop so it needs to be external)
DJ01 Posted June 29, 2009 Author Posted June 29, 2009 I would prefer it to be external but if a internal is better I can go for one so I don't run into the same problem
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 Internal is always better for a desktop. External is always better for a laptop - unless it doesn't work of course
