Yesterday, when I was burning a video I got an I/O error message (at least I think it was). I didn't want to deal with it at the time so I closed the application. Now it appears that ImgBurn doesn't recognize that I have a new blank DVD ready to burn (I discarded the one from yesterday). It says in the lower left hand corner "Device not ready (Medium not present)." And the device tab looks different.

Any ideas how to fix this?

This is a hardware issue, that status comes direct from the drive.

I assume you've tried shutting down the pc, leaving it for 30 seconds and then turning it on again?

Yes. I've done that a couple of times and each time I leave it off for a couple of minutes.
