catsmeow Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 hi, i posted the starting in a different thread, but what i did wastry to change the NEC booktype for my optiarc drive to make the xbox 360 think it is reading a DVD ROM instead of the DVD+R DL, but i heard it may work without changing the booktype because it may do it for you, so here is what i think is the right log: I 21:32:15 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started! I 21:32:15 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1) I 21:32:15 Total Physical Memory: 3,667,092 KB - Available: 1,810,524 KB I 21:32:15 Initialising SPTI... I 21:32:15 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 21:32:15 Found 2 DVD-ROMs and 1 DVD
mmalves Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Use the verify mode to check that disc against the source image, so that we know if it's a good burn or not. If it passes verify then the problem is with your console. For the reference, with ImgBurn in Write mode the current disc's booktype is shown under Physical Information (Last Recorded): By the way... I 21:36:22 Destination Device: [1:0:0] Optiarc DVD+-RW AD-7640A JD05 (E:) (ATA) There's newer firmware available for your burner (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished).
LIGHTNING UK! Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Verify your burns. I expect they'll be set to DVD-ROM anyway, most drives default to doing that now on DL media even if software cannot manipulate the setting when it wants to. Pop the disc back in, switch to Read mode and copy + paste all the disc info from the panel on the right. The issue may well be with your xbox rather than the disc... but that's something for a different forum.
catsmeow Posted June 30, 2009 Author Posted June 30, 2009 ok, i put the disc back in that i burned, but didnt work and put the mode to read. here is the info: Optiarc DVD+-RW AD-7640A JD05 (ATA) Current Profile: DVD+R DL Disc Information: Status: Complete Erasable: No Sessions: 1 Sectors: 3,697,696 Size: 7,572,881,408 bytes Time: 821:44:46 (MM:SS:FF) TOC Information: Session 1... LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded - L0):Disc ID: MKM-001-00 Book Type: DVD-ROM Part Version: 1 ... So the booktype is fine, even if the software isn't able to manipulate it on your drive due to firmware limitations.
catsmeow Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 ok, dont exactly know what that means, but so if its not the booktype then, what else could it be because i am trying to burn a game from a ripped copy that has previoously been burnt. This previously burnt copy and many more from a guy that does them all work fine, its just seems to be me that it wont work for. So any suggestions? and could it be that my drive is saying its a Optiarc DVD+-RW AD-7640A JD05 (ATA), does that still mean it ca burn DL? thanks alot
mmalves Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Since the disc is fine, this applies: The issue may well be with your xbox rather than the disc... but that's something for a different forum. I'm sorry but we can't help you if you don't have a burning problem
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Talk to the person that 'upgraded' your xbox... it obviously wasn't you or you'd already know the answer.
