Cant burn dvd at more than 2.4x speed

everytime I try to burn a dvd I set it at 4x speed but it wont burn any faster than 2.4x. The problem just started when i started using verbatim dvds. I use to always burn up to 8x or more so I dont know what the problem is. The verbatim are rated at 16x btw. thanks

Sounds as a DMA issue.

Yeah i checked the dma and its all good there. Is there any other solutions? Thanks for advice though cynthia.

1. Post a burning log.

2. Did you reinstall the controller? If you just looked how they showed up in Windows Device Manager - they can be showed as DMA, but still be stuck in PIO mode.

wierd i just started burning a disk and its doing it a 4x speed all sudden. thanks
