lannas Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) Hi There, I am just about at my wits end with this. I have just gone through half a spindle of Verbatim DL's trying to work out what the hell is going on with the errors I'm getting. I've googled til I'm blue in the face I've successfully burnt many a 360 game until today when I get I/O errors at 13%. Buffer & Device Buffer run at 100% & 99% respectively throughout the whole process too and I am not running any other programs or touching the computer throughout the burn process. Here is the log from the burn: I 07:53:08 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started! I 07:53:08 Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate x64 Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1) I 07:53:08 Total Physical Memory: 4,191,740 KB - Available: 2,436,388 KB I 07:53:08 Initialising SPTI... LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 If it won't burn the verbs at any of the supported speeds, clean the drive and try again before then investing in a new one (make it an external one as laptop drives in general are rubbish).
lannas Posted July 3, 2009 Author Posted July 3, 2009 Thanks, I've tried cleaning it as I used it to play a Blu-Ray movie last night and I always clean it before and after playing those. ImgBurn tells me my Drive Firmware is 1.86 but there is a 1.05 available on the site it directs me to. I'm wondering if I should try rolling back the firmware to 1.05 to see if that makes any difference at all. Is there a specific brand of external drive I should be looking for that is the best? Cheers for the help.
mmalves Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 A Pioneer 116/117 (or 216/217) in an external enclosure of your choice would be the best option. As for Verbatims at $5 a pop have a look here (link from this thread)
