Daf Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 (edited) Hi, new here, i just tred to burn an xbox 360 game, i have the Verbatim 8x DL DVD+R and im assuming my burner can burn these. I've tried two different ISO files and both get the same error. I know its not my DVD burner as i recently burned a DVD today. Should i try and buy the 2.4's or is it the fact i cant burn DL on this burner? Heres the log: I 00:51:44 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started!I 00:51:44 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1)I 00:51:44 Total Physical Memory: 1,037,628 KB - Available: 152,176 KBI 00:51:44 Initialising SPTI...I 00:51:44 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...I 00:51:45 Found 1 DVD Edited July 10, 2009 by Daf
mmalves Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I 01:05:20 Destination Device: [0:0:0] MATSHITA DVD+-RW UJ-857G Z111 (D:) (ATA) Even the manufacturer knows how good their hardware is You could try burning at 4x but your best chance would be with the 2.4x Verbatim blanks. Laptop drives generally aren't good burners, and Matshita are the worst of them. If you could get an external burner it would be even better, and they could even burn those 8x Verbatims you have

LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 *another* slim one?! Slim drives are really not what you want to be using if you want decent burns.
Daf Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 *another* slim one?! Slim drives are really not what you want to be using if you want decent burns. Oh no, im an idiot. It was pointless me buying that then, is it worth me waiting to see if they'll burn with it or should i just try something else
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Do you know the exact make/model of it? IF it has good firmware support you might be lucky. I wouldn't buy a new one (again!) until you've at least tried it. You can always turn it again on ebay if you don't think it's up to much.
Daf Posted July 10, 2009 Author Posted July 10, 2009 Got a message back from him just now saying the following: Many are Toshiba Samsung TS-L632 but also numerous other makes with similar specs.
