Unrecovered read error at same sector

Hello all ImgBurn wizards,

I've used ImgBurn for several years to make ISO backups of CD-ROM based software. I purchased three new titles from Critical Thinking Co (www.criticalthinking.com) recently. I would be pretty surprised if there were copy protection, but you never know I guess. These in particular are important for me to make ISO's of since they are for my kids netbook which has no physical CD drive so I usually just make ISOs and mount with Daemon tools.

One of the three copied flawlessly as I'm used to with Imgburn. The other two both start making the ISO and then fail at the same sector number. Catch that, both titles fail at nearly the same sector. All three CD-ROMs claim to be both PC and Mac compatible (I'm on a PC) if that makes any difference.

Here's one log:

I 20:51:21 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started!

I 20:51:21 Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition (6.0, Build 6001 : Service Pack 1)

I 20:51:21 Total Physical Memory: 3,274,316 KB - Available: 1,779,008 KB

I 20:51:21 Initialising SPTI...

I 20:51:21 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

I 20:51:22 Found 1 DVD

If the discs are new and the drive can't read them then it's most likely copy protection, and ImgBurn can't copy protected discs :(

I went back and examined the source disks more carefully. There are only a few hundred K of visible files in the folder structure. So, I fear you are correct. The bulk of the data is stored in some kind of binary bleck on the CD. I hate crap like that. Its not even a big hit game but just some awful edutainment title.
