RedHatcc Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 (edited) I am trying to burn a image that is 6.5gb in a DL Memorex dvd. I just did a clean wipe of my computer, so its a brand new fresh install of xp. Imgburn is the only program i have running. I have not did any hardware test (memtest86+, Seatools etc.) and i have not installed any other programs on my pc but xp pro, imgburn, winrar. I have a slight hint that this is going to be my dvd burner but im not quite sure, it seems to burn the dvd fine just when its finalizing it it freezes. edit: as you can see i let it run overnite at 2.4x to see how doing it at a slower speed with nothing else going on on the computer works but still the same problem. The reason i reloaded my machine was because before when i even launched Imgburn, the program would freeze but now after i reloaded my machine it wont freeze until the finalizing disk part. I 20:15:25 ImgBurn Version 2.4.4.0 started!I 20:15:25 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 20:15:25 Total Physical Memory: 3,407,340 KB - Available: 3,009,376 KB I 20:15:25 Initialising SPTI... LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 It's a drive/firmware/media combo issue. Try a different 'supported' write speed. Look for firmware updates for the drive. Clean the drive Try different discs Try a new drive.
