I 15:33:43 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 15:33:43 Found 1 DVD-RW and 1 DVD
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 That machine has serious buffer issues. What is your F:\ drive? Is it the slowest performing device known to mankind? If your drives can't handle 'RITEK-S04-66' discs, don't use them. Read this: http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000 The alternative is to buy a new drive that does like them.

My drive on both computers actually happens to be the same...the "HP dvd writer 840b" drive But my F:\ drive is actually a Western Digital 500GB MyBook external hard drive...that is where i am getting the file off of....and my usb 2.0 ports on this computer dont seem to be working so that could be the reason for the slow speeds Edited July 23, 2009 by JMezzy69
Shamus_McFartfinger Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Ritek media is crap. It's been crap for the past 5 years and will likely continue to be crap for another 5. Click L_UKs link above and revel in the bounty of information that it contains.
JMezzy69 Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 what of my media is "Ritek" like you're talking about? I am using Memorex Cd's...are those what you are talking about or what? Sorry i'm a noob
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Memorex might be the 'brand' name stamped on the disc but they're using the RITEK dye. I 15:35:06 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 4x)
JMezzy69 Posted July 23, 2009 Author Posted July 23, 2009 o ok...so if i pick up some Verbatim Disks then it should work fine?
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Until you actually try, nobody can say for sure. There's certainly more chance of those working than the Riteks though. Of course the other option is to buy a new drive that *can* burn the ritek discs ok.
