ozgoz Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) Hi, Sorry chaps, I've tried to find a solution to my problem by reading the forums and googling so posting the question as last resort as can't seem to crack it. I am burning coasters about 1 in 6 or so discs. I am using Verbatim, and burning at 2x speed. Burning iso images of work files to multiple discs for a presentation. I don't know if I've got the latest firmware or not, my drive is: SONY DVD-RW AW-Q160S - I tried the tools / drive / check for firmware but the website wasn't clear enough for me to be confident to download incase I make things worse. I don't know if AW is the drive and Q160S is the firmware I can't seem to work it out. Anyway here is my error log... I 15:27:03 Filling Buffer... (40 MB) I 15:27:06 Writing LeadIn... spinningwheel Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Please post the entire log, there is some data that we need to see that the logfile captures.
spinningwheel Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I did a search for "command sequence error" and this is what the Boss wrote about it sometime back: Command sequence errors are from where the program tries to send a series of commands to the drive and the drive complains because it's not expecting one (or more of them) when it's in the state it is at the time.... normally this is after a failed burn or something - and probably happens more with olders drives (buggy/less forgiving firmware I also did a search for firmware and the latest I could find was from 2007...possibly your drive needs a cleaning or a replacement.

spinningwheel Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Have to go, be back later if someone else doesn't jump in.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Your first error was a 'Write Error', that's the one you need to be looking into.
mmalves Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 You might want to try a lens cleaning disc on that drive. Also try burning at 8x or 12x.
