gip213 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 (edited) I recently finished downloading Twilight Princess for my Wii. I burnt it to a DVD-R at AWS (MAX) and it worked perfectly. Unfortunately, the region code was NTSC and I needed PAL so I frii'd it to PAL. When I tried to burn it again, I got an I/O error. I tried to burn at 4x and 16x with the same results. Always happens at around 93%. Cynthia Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, gip213! There is a later firmware for this burner http://www.firmwarehq.com/NEC/ND-3570A/files.html
gip213 Posted August 1, 2009 Author Posted August 1, 2009 Thanks I tried running the updater but it politely tells me that: "Target NEC ND-3570A is not found correctly." Is it my burner's problem, even though I managed to burn off 1 disc before it started doing this? Also, in the log it says its an Optiarc DVD but the brand is NEC? Thanks for the quick reply.
Cynthia Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Is it my burner's problem, even though I managed to burn off 1 disc before it started doing this? If it can't burn Verbatims without issues it can be the firmware that needs to be up to date. It could be a bad disc in the spindle - you know if you try to burn more discs. It could also be that the laser beam needs a cleaning with a DVD lens cleaning disc. Nec changed it's name to Optiarc when they teamed up with $ony. Try to use the .bin file you'll find here: http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/disclaimer/en...2_orig.zip.html Then flash it with this tool http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/how2flash
gip213 Posted August 2, 2009 Author Posted August 2, 2009 Thank you so much it worked The game still doesn't work (RegionFrii probably didn't work) but the burner actually burns now
