i've been using imgburn for a few months and never had a problem until last week when it started saying device not ready(medium not present) i've checked my burner and it burns everything but games just fine and i thought the problem may be the game itself but i've downloaded 7 games since then and still nothing if anyone has any suggestions please help

i am using both verbatum and memorex dl discs and neither workI 14:04:43 ImgBurn

1. Your burner passed away

2. It needs a cleaning

 

Test this:

 

Enter Read mode

Put an empty DL disc in

Post the disc info from the right part of the programs window

Not the log file. When you insert a disc in read mode the right part will show you info about the disc. Like this one:

Was there any error message? Did you remove any disc from the drive and closed its tray before updating the firmware? You could try the firmware update on another computer you might have access to, or maybe with an IDE to USB adapter :unsure:

The firmware update could help, but since it doesn't work on that drive then I guess the drive is dead :(

i have a similar problem, but im just trying to burn dvds

 

im pretty unfamiliar with this software - so please tell me ive just made some big noob mistake.

Your drive doesn't support the blank media you're trying to use. If it has the latest firmware then you'll need to try with other media (Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden highly recommended) or buy a new burner.
