Cynthia Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 1. Your burner passed away 2. It needs a cleaning Test this: Enter Read mode Put an empty DL disc in Post the disc info from the right part of the programs window

mmalves Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Was there any error message? Did you remove any disc from the drive and closed its tray before updating the firmware? You could try the firmware update on another computer you might have access to, or maybe with an IDE to USB adapter
warlock09 Posted August 8, 2009 Author Posted August 8, 2009 ya I tried that and it didn't work either
mmalves Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 The firmware update could help, but since it doesn't work on that drive then I guess the drive is dead
morningtheft Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 i have a similar problem, but im just trying to burn dvds im pretty unfamiliar with this software - so please tell me ive just made some big noob mistake. im getting mixed messages
mmalves Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 i have a similar problem, but im just trying to burn dvds Your drive doesn't support the blank media you're trying to use. If it has the latest firmware then you'll need to try with other media (Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden highly recommended) or buy a new burner. And next time please start your own thread.
