LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 If that Disc ID is correct, it's not a DL disc. Either way, your drive is returning bogus info for the media. It's saying 'Unknown' for stuff it should easily support and reporting the wrong 'Current Profile' for it too.
mmalves Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-H31N B106 (ATAPI) Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished). Does it help with your problem? If you can please post the Information again

It's saying 'Unknown' for stuff it should easily support and reporting the wrong 'Current Profile' for it too. I have gone thru the remaning discs on my tub. 2 were OK now 1 shows Disc Not Empty & 1 shows Device Not Ready(Medium Not Present) 1 showed Device Not Ready(Logical Unit becoming ready) - but never did anything else 8 showed Disc Not Empty 4 showed Device Not Ready(Medium Not Present) Do I assume all these are duff? or does the drive need a clean?

mmalves Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 You could try a lens cleaning disc just for kicks, but I think your burner is defective and needs replacement
philbilldick Posted August 11, 2009 Author Posted August 11, 2009 You could try a lens cleaning disc just for kicks, but I think your burner is defective and needs replacement Will get a lens cleaning kit and see what happens. Can I get a copy of 2.4.4.0 from you and see if the writer is still giving same problems. (It all seemed to be working fine until I installed 2.5.0.0) Regards Phil
mmalves Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 We don't support versions before 2.5.0.0 ImgBurn shows what the burner reports and this hasn't changed in the new version.
