volvofl10 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 can you post a log file from ImgBurn as well please , this will reveal more info to us that will help you in turn, also do you have neros packet writer software installed on the PC ( InCD i think its called)? or AnyDVD
LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 As above plus it's kinda odd you have drivers from 3 other cd burning tools installed and yet you say you only have 2 programs - neither of which are responsible for those drivers! If ImgBurn stops doing stuff and the buffers are full, it means your drive (or the I/O subsystem) has given up responding to the last command. As soon as your drive springs back into life (which never happens), ImgBurn will continue.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 There is no I/O debugging to be done here so you need not post a log including that stuff. You actually missed off a massive chunk there anyway and so what you've provided is really of no use to us except we now know your burner's firmware version. When you uninstall burning software, it rarely takes away its driver - as many other programs often make use of the drivers too. That's why you've got a collection of filter drivers installed that you're not using. You could probably quite happily remove: GEARAspiWDM Pfc ASAPIW2k PxHelp20

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Sorry, did you say SPTI doesn't find any drives? Something must be seriously wrong for that to be the case. That normally happens when your filter drivers are messed up. That can't have been the entire log, just switch to the Log window, press CTRL + A, and then CTRL + C to copy it all to the clipboard. You should remove the asapi one too. Not sure how you removed the others, but you could always resort to stripping it out via the registry. It's probably in a key like this: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Just edit the 'LowerFilters' value and remove the asapiw2k text. Then reboot.

LIGHTNING UK! Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Wahoooo.... finally a full log! I'm not sure how you managed to get it wrong so many times. Ok you STILL don't need I/O debug mode enabled. It doesn't tell me anything that I'd need for this. No I/O during the actual burn is captured and displayed in the log - it would slow it down too much. Infodisc media is pretty shite. Is that all you've tested with? Try again on some TYG02 / MCC media and see if you get the same problem. During the burn, the program repeats the same commands over and over again. There is nothing special going on and so there's no reason for it to get stuck.
