Img Burn 2.5.0.0 Can't Lock Drive Help Required

Hi All,

 

Im using img burn 2.5.0.0 with xbox backup creator.

I load xbox backup creator and chose img burn to burn with but always get the error (FSCTL_LOCK_VOLUME) failed.

I reset my pc but the problem is still happening.

Can someone please help me?

Im using a pioneer dvr-216.

That message is shown when other program is using the drive. Please read this post from the FAQ on how to find which program is holding the drive.

Tried that and the only 2 programs using the drive was Img burn and xbox backup creator which intergrate with each other.

Im sure its a bug as i do not remember it ever with older versions of Img burn.

I even reset the pc and it did the same.

Then you know why ImgBurn can't lock the drive for exclusive access: xbc is holding it. As such, you can ignore the message and continue anyway.

So shouldnt there be an option to ignore this for future use?

The option is in Tools -> Settings -> Write tab.

There shouldn't really be any reason for XBC to have a handle open to your Pioneer burner if it's calling ImgBurn for the burn.

 

Tell them to fix XBC - v2.5.0.0 of ImgBurn shouldn't use that specific locking mechanism anyway if you're on XP SP3 / Vista.
