spa Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I feel like I shouldn't ask any questions but after reading and searching for three+ hours I have more questions than answers. This is what I get for a read report: Recording Management Area Information: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112 Physical Format Information (Last Recorded): Book Type: DVD-R Part Version: 5 Disc Size: 120mm Maximum Read Rate: Not Specified Number of Layers: 1 Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP) Linear Density: 0.267 um/bit Track Density: 0.74 um/track First Physical Sector of Data Area: 196,608 Last Physical Sector of Data Area: 688,511 Last Physical Sector in Layer 0: 0 Will this be read as a DVD-ROM? The disk work fine on my computer. Also if I am Burning .AVI .WMV am I right in my finding that I need yet another program?
Cynthia Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Hi and welcome to the forum, spa! Only +R/+RW media can be book typed to DVD-ROM - so this disc is still Book Type: DVD-R If you want to convert the .avi/.wmv files to be played on a regular DVD player - yes, you need another program for that converting before you can burn the new files with ImgBurn.

Thanks Cynthia for the quick reply. I'm still not sure if the disk will be read on a regular player. I can get a program to convert the files. If I use ISO files will they be O.K.? Spa
Cynthia Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 A -R disc should be read by any "modern" DVD player as long as you have the files in DVD files format. (.bup/.vob/.ifo) ISO files is just a container (like a zip file) with the files inside it. Shouldn't matter if you burn it from an ISO or the converted files.
