I/O ERROR Please Help!!!

Henri

Recommended Posts

Okay let me first start by giving you some backround info.

I am using a Sony Optiarc DVD RW 7200 and Memorex DVD DL.

I know ppl have suggested that I should get the verbatims dvds and I will unless someone can give me some advice.

I am burning 360 games and have perviously burnt about 20+ games and all was well with a few errors. Something I thought was normal. I had vista installed first when I burnt all games. Then downgraded to xp and imageburn would not allow me to go less the 4x. I thought it was an xp issue and went back to vista. I am on vista and still get the same issue. Here is my log and any help will be welcome. If its my drive can anyone please let me know which drive I should get.

Thanks.

Note: Once the dics gives me this error. I pop out the dvd and I can see multiple rings on the disc. I have never seen this b4 which makes me lean to the fact that the rom is bad.

Thanks.

There's newer firmware for your burner (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished). Try burning at 6x or 8x to see if you get a better burn.

That burner is very good and if you bought Verbatim 2.4x blanks it should work without problems.

I am also getting an i/o error. I did on an old version of ImgBurn so I've updated to the newest version, and still am getting the i/o error. Funny thing is, I never got errors prior to today using whatever cd media I had at the time. I ran in it test mode first, then tried to burn the iso:

I 11:26:58 Destination Media Type: CD-R (Disc ID: 97m26s66f)

Old drive and new media isn't a good combination. You could try a lens cleaning disc on the drive, buying Taiyo Yuden CD-Rs or getting a new burner.
