Echorion Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Every single time, I've tried 4 different types of discs, even closed everything I had open! Can someone please help? I know the program is reliable, I've had it work so well on other computers...just not mine. (Worked a few times on mine...) I 19:40:43 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! I 19:40:43 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 19:40:43 Total Physical Memory: 784,368 KB - Available: 244,324 KB W 19:40:43 SPTD can have a detrimental effect on drive performance. I 19:40:43 Initialising SPTI... I 19:40:43 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices... I 19:40:44 Found 1 CD-RW, 1 DVD
mmalves Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 I 19:41:19 Destination Device: [1:1:0] HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N 1.05 (G:) (ATA)I 19:41:19 Destination Media Type: DVD+R (Disc ID: SONY-D21-00) (Speeds: 4x, 8x, 12x) I 19:41:19 Write Speed: 2.4x Update your burner's firmware (remove any disc and close the tray before updating then reboot after it's finished). Try burning at 8x or 12x (2.4x isn't even supported by your burner on that media). If it doesn't work then try with Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks.
Echorion Posted August 29, 2009 Author Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) Thank you for the help, I really appreciate it. I'll try everything you just said, and post how it goes. It's a shame I might not be able to burn x2.4 speed though, at x4 wii games skip, lag, or freeze a lot.... Edit: I'm having trouble updating my firmware, since I don't know what to do for this- 2. Connect the drive to the secondary IDE channel as a master drive with no other devices connected to that channel (Ignore if it's an SATA drive). Start Windows and verify it can recognize the drive. (My burner is a secondary, I had it added later on. So how should I handle this?...) Edited August 29, 2009 by Echorion
mmalves Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Close all unneeded programs, remove any disc from the drive, close the tray and run the 1.06 firmware updater: it'll find your drive and then you click the update button. That's it.
Echorion Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 (edited) I did everything you said, and this is still the result: I 21:10:58 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! I 21:10:58 Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3) I 21:10:58 Total Physical Memory: 784,368 KB - Available: 422,412 KB W 21:10:58 SPTD can have a detrimental effect on drive performance. mmalves Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Use the Verify mode to check the disc against the source image, and next time leave Verify enabled, as that's what ensures the burn was good or not (miscompare/error = bad burn).

Still not working. Could a bad ISO cause this error? Because if it's not that, then I have no clue. I've tried everything so far, nothing works. It just ruins my discs.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Did it actually verify ok though, that's the important thing here.
Echorion Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) Sorry for the delay, but things came up. To the above, yes it verifies fine. Edit: This problem has been fixed, thanks for the help guys. I had a friend come over and take a shot at it, I don't know what he did but now it works perfectly. Edited September 8, 2009 by Echorion
