nateski Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) Hi all...sorry but I'm stuck. I read these guides, http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=1778 http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=4632 maybe they arn't the right guides for my situation ? I have a folder...H:\Downloads\KKcolorised\VIDEO_TS inside the VIDEO_TS folder 5 BUP files 5 IFO files 11 .vob files in the KKcolorised folder is a ISO file with an ImgBurn association/icon and of course the VIDEO_TS folder. I've followed the guides step by step. I had a Verbatim DVD-R. in the device tab the burner was listed but the text was grey (Optiarc) and had no details listed below. I believe the drivers are current and windows says it's working (XP Pro) I got no error messages, in fact it said the process was successful...it seemed to work, but the disc didn't show in my PS3, and never loaded (just said LOADING on screen for...well, too long I thought.) in my stand alone Sony DVD player. I snapped that disc into 4 pieces and tossed it into the trash. I have one more Verbatim (DVD-R) disc here and another Memorex (DVD-RW) so far I see no value in a DVD burner aside from taking up a bay in my comp. when I launch ImgBurn I get an option to... write image to disc write folders to disc create image file from disc create image file from files/folders verify disc discovery the guides I saw didn't start with this so I assume I should be starting with ....write image to disk ? or write files/folders to disc...or create image file from files/folders ? which guide do I start with ? thanks Edited August 30, 2009 by nateski
mmalves Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Please post the log from that burn (look in ImgBurn's Help menu).
nateski Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 ok thanks. I would have done but I assumed the log was gone after the burn had finished. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- //****************************************\\ ; ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 - Log ; Saturday, 29 August 2009, 17:15:09 ; \\****************************************// ; ; I 17:14:32 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! nateski Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 (edited) oh hell...looks like logs from every time I opend ImgBurn I also see PAL noted. the movie was originally issued in the UK, I want to burn for a US player..is this possible ? is this the problem ? thanks again Edited August 30, 2009 by nateski
mmalves Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Well, the log doesn't show any disc being burned nor verified, which is what would tell us if the burn was good or not. As for the video being PAL you need to check your devices to see if they support it.
nateski Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 (edited) devices, meaning my PS3 and dvd player ? no they don't. I'm shure of that. but the source files are from a PAL disc. (just downloaded files, I have no disc) so is it possible to burn an NTSC disc from files off of a PAL disc ? you say no indication of discs burned ? what does this mean then ? mmalves Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Converting PAL to NTSC isn't very easy but it's doable. And the log shows you creating the ISO image, not burning the disc itself.
nateski Posted August 30, 2009 Author Posted August 30, 2009 ok well thanks... I give up. I've found VLC will play my vid fine so I give up burning.
