Update ImgBurn.

Check if that computer has USB 2.0 ports (you can use SIW to find out). If it doesn't then you'll have to use another computer which does have USB 2.0 ports, since USB 1.1 is too slow even for 1x DVD burning.

Did you check to see if you have USB 2.0 ports?

Your drive will be in constantly be using the 'burnproof' function if you put it on a usb 1.0 port - and that's not something you want to be doing.

i checked to see but it didn't show if they are 1.1 or 2.0 it just said generic or mass storage, and thanks mmalves for telling me to update cause that got it working. most helpful guide. thanx

Curious.

Is that a portable or desktop computer?

According to your posted image - you only have the turtle slow USB 1.x.

If it's a desktop computer, I would go for an internal add in card with USB 2.0.

The speed through an USB 1.x connection is so slow that hardly the mouse can keep up with it. A DVD burner needs to be feeded with much higher speeds like from an USB 2.0 connection.

You best solution is to buy an internal USB 2.0 card and then put the burner to that connection.
