So I can't for some reason make a thread in the support area, even though I have more posts than others?? (whom have created threads)

Anyways, maybe a mod would be courteous and move thread to designated area.

Here's my dilemma:

So...went out and purchased the verbatim 8x dl disc and,

23:03:51 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started!

I 23:03:51 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 3)

I 23:03:51 Total Physical Memory: 1,038,316 KB - Available: 754,728 KB

I 23:03:51 Initialising SPTI...

I 23:03:51 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...

I 23:08:00 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: MKM-003-00) (Speeds: 2.4x)

There is only one speed to select, so selecting something else is useless as it will revert back to 2.4x.

Your burner simple doesn't like that media. An external burner would solve your issues.

I like Pioneers. Get an internal version and put it into an external USB cabinet if you can fit it inside the computer. Models 115/116/117/215/216/217.

Thanks

I think i'm going to leave the office and purchase this one right now:

can you tell me if it's good, I heard that lite on is a decently reputable brand, not looking for something great just something better than my burner in my laptop which is 4 years old.

THANK YOU!!!!

Lite-Ons are not my cup of tea. However nice for scannings.

Some models do not go very well with DL media.

Will this model work well with DL media, I'm just trying to get my hands on something today...so I can test it out, and is Lite-On (in general)

an okay brand?

An external slim burner is a laptop burner in an external enclosure, and as you know by now, laptop burners are rubbish. The site you've linked to doesn't seem to have any good external burners :(

mmalves,

how about these: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?_d...rp=15&iht=n

are any of those worth the purchase???

if not, any of these:

You need a zip code for that page. Zip codes for me is pure Greek as I don't live in the US.

It's a bit high priced but it would be the one I would pick from that page.
