I upgraded the firmware but now my DVD drive isn't being recognized and when I put a disc in it doesn't read it at all. I still don't get why it won't work please help.

Cynthia Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Can ImgBurn find the burner at all? Tried to reflash it again? No errors during the flash?

Cynthia Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x) Try the 6x and 8x write speeds. If that also fails - try another brand of media (with another media code (Disc ID)).

MikeBoiiii Posted September 6, 2009 Author Posted September 6, 2009 Try with some Verbatims. I did with 2.4x speed, then I tried 2x then 4x, they all failed and I used up 3 of my good verbs.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Get a new drive then, yours appear to have developed a fault. (Try giving it a clean with a clean disc before you do though)
MikeBoiiii Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 Get a new drive then, yours appear to have developed a fault. (Try giving it a clean with a clean disc before you do though) Which would you advise me to, I want something that can burn dl discs at at least 2.4x and that won't give me any errors in the long run, and if possible sata. I'm really in decisive on drives so please help.
Cynthia Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Pioneers like SATA models 215, 216, 217 should work nicely.
MikeBoiiii Posted September 7, 2009 Author Posted September 7, 2009 Pioneers like SATA models 215, 216, 217 should work nicely. Sorry but my budget is around $20-30, anything good in between there?
mmalves Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 The newer models by Optiarc are also very good. Are you looking at online stores? There are a few listed in this thread -> http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=8000
Cynthia Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Perhaps an Optiarc 7240. $27.99 http://www.meritline.com/sony-optiarc-7240...---p-34442.aspx
moler Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hi i had same problem with pioneer 111d then i bought an nec optiac 7200 and i still have the same problem ,have burned a lot of xbox 360 backups without any problems ,when burning on my laptop there is no problem. I allso have tryed the burner in another cpu but still the same . I use aone and verbatim media ,sometimes i can burn on verbatim but that is like 1 out of 3.
LIGHTNING UK! Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Make your own thread and include the log of you burning / verifying something - ideally on a verbatim disc.
