mmalves
Try a lens cleaning disc on that burner, and if it doesn't help then you should start looking for a new burner.
hallo
i didn't clean the lens and i tried to burn a cd and the burning was successful what do you think of that ?? if the dvd drive is dead isn't it supposed to fail this burning as well ?? mmalves
CD burning and DVD burning are very different things, and your burner should be able to do both, e.g. I have a Samsung SH-S203B 20x SATA burner that can burn single and dual layers DVDs just fine (the burn quality is good) but isn't reading any kind of CD media at all. Cynthia
I've had DVD burners that crapped out of burning a DVD and still managed to burn CDs without any issues.
